About

Darwin Gamers Association ( DGA ) is a group of local gamers with an interest in multiplayer computer games and in sharing computer knowledge. Our goal is to learn, play and have fun. DGA is a non-profitable organisation, run by volunteers of all ages and gender. This makes the gaming experience something truly unique to the Territory. All money that is raised goes back into the organisation to purchase new equipment, venues and great prizes for our regular competitions.

DGA originated in 1995 from the previously known Local Area Network (LAN) 'TrustNo1 LAN'. This was a group of about 20 striving gamers, eager to spread their knowledge and encourage people to be apart of the gaming network. With this small group of 20 the DGA vision was created, to one day have people from all walks of life joining in on the fun, not just 20 or 30 people but hundreds. It has taken much time and effort to get DGA where it is today, however we are just getting started!

DGA LAN's are held regularly at the Chambers Cresent Theatre (Malak Shopping Centre), with an average of 40 gamers attending. Competitions and clan wars are regularly organised with prizes to be won. Lucky door prizes are also up for grabs for any paid participant. DGA open the doors at 12pm Saturday and close at 4pm Sunday it cost $20.00 to participate, further charges apply for unregistered participants. Guests are always welcomed to come down free of charge, have a look and ask some questions.

DGA is again working towards Evolution (EVO), which is a much larger event attracting people from interstate. EVO is held over three days, it offers more games, competitions and greater prizes. EVO 4 (2004) attracted over 220 gamers excluding spectators. We are hoping build this up to reach the 300 mark!

This year we also hope to introduce Console Gaming to our events with a projector, consoles and games to be set up as well.

DGA welcomes and is open to everyone to come down and be a spectator or an active participant. All that is needed is.
