Make sure you have brought all the necessary equipment that has been listed above. Setup your computer just like you were setting it up at home. Plug your computer cables into your power board. It's important that power boards are not daisy-chained together. This will cause power overloads.
To configure Windows XP or 2000,
Right click My Network Connections > Properties
Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) settings > Properties
Make sure Obtain an IP address automatically and obtain DNS server address automatically are both selected.
Click OK to all.
To ensure you are on the DGA network you can try either of the below.
Click Start > run
Type cmd
Type Ipconfig
If it mentions DGA in the values returned you are on the DGA network.
If it does not mention DGA values ensure that your network cable is correctly plugged into your nearest switch, then try the process again. If that does not work then ask the person who is sitting next to you to ping your computer. Your computer name can be found under,
My Computer > Properties
Full Computer Name
The person sitting next to you then types
Click Start > run
Type cmd
Ping computer_name
If no results are returned then find a DGA Offical for help. If values are returned it is possible that someone has not configured their network connection settings correctly or at all. In which case find a DGA Offical and in all cases explain the problems and what you have tried to do to fix it.
